UKITA and PIN-SME – The voice of ICT SMEs in Europe
UKITA is a founding member of PIN-SME, the European Association for SMEs within the ICT sector. Our chairman, Charles Huthwaite, is the UK representative and a vice-president of PIN-SME which currently represents over 50,000 ICT companies in eight countries.
PIN-SME for you
- EU representation. Run by SMEs for SMEs, PIN-SME is the only European Association that exclusively represents companies of this size within the ICT sector.
- Source EU projects and funding. Through PIN-SME, UKITA can offer you access to EU projects and explore the possibility of EU project-funding on your behalf.
- Collaborate with EU companies. As a member of PIN-SME, UKITA is the contact point for UK ICT SMEs interested in establishing collaborations with their European counterparts.
- Stay in the loop. Because of our strong links with PIN-SME, we are able to provide you with regular updates on relevant ICT developments in Europe.
- Access European funds. ICT is a high priority. European programmes understandably view ICT as an important area for funding. It is the largest thematic area for research funding and has also benefited from inclusion in innovation, education and regional development programmes.
- Funding is available. In theory, there’s millions of euros available for small ICT businesses. However, it can prove difficult for individual SMEs to access this funding alone.
- Strength in numbers. To stand a better chance of receiving European funding, UK ICT SMEs should aim to develop wide networks and partnerships. UKITA then works with PIN-SME to help you access the funding your project requires.
