UKita support the 'Toys for Tots' Appeal

Toys for Tots
Christmas is a magical time for children, but there are those children who have suffered neglect, abuse, the loss of their family or have a medical condition that is likely to cut short their life. For them, the festive season takes on a special sparkle, lifting the sorrow that all too often overshadows their lives.
UKita Partner West Bromwich Building Society is therefore proud to once again sponsor Beacon Radio’s Toys for Tots appeal, which proved such an immense success last year. This popular appeal, which runs from Monday 19th November until Christmas, asks listeners to donate new toys which are then distributed to disadvantaged children across the West Midlands and Shropshire.
Barnados, NCH, Hope House Hospice, local homeless services and women’s refuges are just some of the organisations that have benefited from the Toys for Tots appeal.
During the Toys for Tots appeal, our branches and Principal Office act as ‘drop-off’ points for the toys. Receptacles for this purpose will be situated at each location.
At the West Brom, we pride ourselves on supporting vital community causes. Beacon Radio’s Toys for Tots is a tremendous opportunity to show that renowned West Brom compassion, especially at a time of the year most closely associated with kindness and goodwill.
Last year, Toys for Tots raised a magnificent £30,000 worth of gift donations. With your participation and encouragement, we are confident of surpassing that figure to make Christmas a truly joyful occasion for hundreds of less fortunate children around the region.
For health and safety reasons, only new toys can be accepted. No second hand toys are permitted.
Every person donating a toy should be given a Prize Draw leaflet. The draw, which will be held in January 2008, enables the winner to donate £1,000 to a charity of their choice.
