THE SURVIVAL GAME -
A Series of workshop and networking events sponsored by UKita and the University of Worcester Business School.

In a new collaboration, Ukita and Worcester University Business School are hosting a series of informal events aimed at the SME sector.

With a theme of survival, the events look at the issues and challenges faced by small to medium sized companies and how to overcome them.

The first event, 'Avoiding Extinction', will be held on Thursday 15th March where a group of leading regional businessmen will give their top tips on how to form a business, develop a business, and make sure it survives and prospers. Speaking at the event will be Godfrey Morgan, the Chief Executive of Worcestershire Lifestyles, Fred Noble, a leading West Midlands entrepreneur, and Paul Furniss, a Senior Lecturer from the Business School.

The second event, ‘Staying Alive’ on 14th June, will focus on innovation, project and client management and how to spot and encourage talent in your workforce.

The third event, entitled ‘Survival of the Fittest’ on 13th September, asks the question ‘Can we learn from each other?’ Developing best practice, networking and maximising your business contacts.

Each event will offer over two hours of networking with business from all over the West Midlands. ‘We don’t want to limit this event to any business sector’ says Tim Maxfield, the Business School’s Director of Development, ‘we know that we can all learn from each other and this will encourage new business opportunities across the West Midlands. And of course, an extensive buffet will be provided.

‘This is a unique opportunity to let a wider audience benefit from UKita events, and we are in a great position to learn from the center of excellence that Worcester University Business School has become’ says Charles Huthwaite (pictured below far left), director of the Hereford and Worcester branch of UKita and director of local software house and innovation consultancy, Innoware.
