NOMINATIONS - Official Skills Inquiry
17th April 2008

NOMINATIONS – OFFICIAL SKILLS INQUIRY

The West Midlands Regional Assembly is asking whether colleagues would like to serve on their inquiry panel into the role of the Regional Development Agency with the skills agenda.

The panel acts like a select committee in the House of Commons – it read evidence, interview witnesses and then produces recommendations.

The time commitment varies and is a matter for the panel to decide upon.

West Midlands Business Council has been asked to send nominations of colleagues who would like to serve on this important inquiry – further details are below.

If you are interested in serving on this panel please contact me or the Assembly officer as stated below.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

Regards

Advantage West Midlands Support for the Skills Agenda
The aim of the review is to examine how Advantage West Midlands is working with partners to support the skills agenda.  In particular it will examine how the actions within the West Midlands Economic Strategy contribute to regional goals in relation to skills and the support for the Regional Skills Partnership.  It will be informed by the strategic review of the Approach to Post 16 Education, Training and Skills.  The evidence gathering phase will run between May and end of June 2008.  The final report will be submitted to the Assembly in October 2008.
