Business Development Executive iCentrum
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum
Advantage West Midlands (AWM) has made significant investment in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector over the last few years helping to provide a variety of support to business both in and out of the sector, mainly aimed at small to medium enterprises (SMEs).
iCentrum is a highly successful AWM project that is managed and delivered by Birmingham Technology Limited to assist West Midlands IT and communication companies improve their competitiveness within different areas such as:
Innovation
Knowledge and information management
Employing best practice
Reducing software and product development
World-class software testing services
Management of supply chain
Birmingham Technology Limited (the management company of Aston Science Park) is seeking to recruit an exceptional Business Development Executive with relevant experience within the IT industry to work as part of the iCentrum project team.
The successful applicant will:
have a good working knowledge of Information Communication Technologies
work with the Project Manager to develop the membership of iCentrum
analyse and define opportunities
develop appropriate relationships with and map out opportunities for collaborative working activities with industry leaders, technology organisations and HEIs and Cluster members
enable technology transfer opportunities
maintain a good understanding of latest ICT technologies and their impact on the developing activities of iCentrum members and the end user community
have a good knowledge of and relationship with the various ICT related initiatives/associations within the West Midlands region
understand how information systems can enable redesigned business processes
anticipate how technology can be used to minimise the impact of trends on an industry (e.g. supply chain management systems, new product introduction reducing time to market, knowledge management innovation etc.)
identify quick hit projects to provide immediate benefit
provide input to the development of a case for action from data gathered from a variety of techniques (e.g. workshops, work sessions, interviews etc.) and develop opportunities for funded research programmes and new technology opportunities
help devise and run marketing campaigns, communication strategies, events and other activities required to ensure the success of the programme
Applicants are likely to be graduates (or of graduate calibre) in a relevant discipline, have demonstrable management and entrepreneurial skills and have previously managed an innovative project or company operating within the ICT sector.
