ENISA research project
14th April 2008
An update on PIN-SME / ENISA Security  activity from our representative at the University of Wolverhaampton, Ken Rabey.

• Attended the kick-off meeting in Brussels last week. Ken will be noted as an author of the report and has permission to use the material in other publications / presentations with appropriate citation.
• The deadlines are tight and first task is to desk research all initiatives in the UK and Eire against criteria that will be agreed by Thursday this week. The other team members are researching other countries but Ken will collate all inputs to a standard and in English by 14th May. Then there is a meeting in Munich at the end of May to agree questionnaires for various agencies (including PIN-SME) for distribution to its members. This will add to the desk research and also enable an evaluation of the effectiveness of those initiatives particularly for micro enterprises.
• The group will then work on specific best practice cases and recommendations for micro enterprises by the end of June. At this time they will meet in Bucharest at the European Business Network conference giving an opportunity for presentation of the work and to interview businesses to supplement the research.
• Through July the group will work on recommendations for ENISA's involvement with Micro enterprises. This will be reported to ENISA at the beginning of September.
• Through September the group will complete the final report which will be presented to ENISA and EEC stakeholders at ENISA Headquarters in Crete at the end of September/ beginning of October.
• Philippe Vanrie is a member of the working group from Belgium - he is CEO of the European Business Network and responsible for the Business Innovation Centres - he is a regular visitor to the BICs at Stafford and Birmingham. Could be useful for future links.
