Staffs Branch Update - Jan 2008
22nd January 2008

Hello Members,

May I wish you a belated, but still sincere Happy New Year and hope that you all have a successful 2008.

I’d like to make you aware of a couple of UKITA Staffordshire meetings/events and an opportunity to attend one of the most prestigious global ICT events, Interop 2008 in Las Vegas.

Firstly, a bit closer to home, the next general meeting of the Staffordshire branch will take place at Staffordshire University on 23rd January, 8am for an 8.30 start.

I’ll take the opportunity to update you on UKITA progress to date and invite ideas, discussions on how you want the branch to support you throughout 2008. I hope you’ll all take the opportunity to make a short presentation on your business, what it does and how others can help you in our key goal of generating “more business 4 You”.

Secondly for those of you with an interest in Mobile and Wireless technology, the project I’m currently working on, West Midlands Mobile and Wireless, is co-sponsoring a morning event on 8th February at the Ramada hotel Junction 15 of the M6.

The topic being covered is “Networking Technology for Business” the synopsis is “All businesses can benefit their bottom line from the increased efficiency and effectiveness of network technology.  All companies need to be aware of these new technologies and understand how to use and protect network technology as part of their business solutions.” We expect the audience to be local SME’s and ICT service/product suppliers.
If you’re interested, please register to attend at http://www.astonsciencepark.co.uk/events/west-midlands-ict-hub/networking-technology-for-business-event-415.html

If you’d like an “exhibition table” to promote your wares to the audience please let me know by email below.

Thirdly and finally, I’ve added an opportunity that I hope might be of interest, it promotes a three day conference in Las Vegas, focussed on Wireless and Mobile technology. Funding for flights, hotel accommodation (excluding meals) and conference fees is covered by WMMW, an Advantage West Midlands project - for UKita Members. Call me or email if you’re interested in finding out more. Log on and go to opportuntiies for the attachement info.
