I provide a friendly, personal and cost
effective IT management and consultancy
service for small to medium sized companies.

I am a Chartered Engineer and Corporate
Member of the Institute of Electrical
Engineers (MIEE). I am MCSE qualified on
both Windows 2000 and 2003 platforms, these
certifications including security electives.

My areas of activity include:-

infrastructure configuration and
troubleshooting.

· Active Directory and Group policy
configuration and troubleshooting.

· Customised training for network managers,
administrators and users.

· Consultancy, support and backup cover for
other ICT suppliers.

· Help in specifying suitable ICT equipment
to meet requirements.

· Help in obtaining best value from and
lowest total cost of ownership of ICT
equipment and infrastructure.

· PC troubleshooting and maintenance.

· Help with designing system use policies
and procedures.

· Risk analysis and disaster recovery plans.

· Data security and integrity.

My background in computing extends back to
the pre PC era of the 1970’s and through all
of the Microsoft operating systems from the
earliest versions of MSDOS to the latest
Windows XP and 2003 platforms. Having been
active in the field of industrial computing,
I have engaged in computer hardware design,
industrial control system design and
software engineering. I spent 18 years in
the role of IT and Technical Projects
Manager for an engineering company active in
the Automotive and Aerospace sectors. The
company produced measurement systems,
industrial interface equipment and
specialist measurement and Statistical
Process Control software. These projects
involved the design and manufacture of
automatic measurement machines used in real-
time, mission critical manufacturing
applications.

I also provide engineering consultancy
services in my specialist field of
Measurement and Metrology for Automotive and
Aero Engine components. I maintain a network
of contacts with other companies,
individuals and large industrial clients
active in this field and therefore have
access to a pool of related skills and
services. I am also interested in further
developing these relationships in
conjunction with my IT activities to offer
support for the special and particular
issues involved in industrial networking,
factory monitoring and automation using
public networks and the newly emerging
industrial wireless networking technologies.
