The Future Workplace

Advances in IT are rapidly changing the way we all live and work.

The Future Workplace interest group is where the UK IT Association and our members collect and exchange ideas in all aspects of this fast-developing field and especially how it affects us commercially as IT practitioners.

Whether it is the change in attitudes of Generation Y workers, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies or use of the Cloud making the workplace truly mobile we want UKITA and our members to be ahead of the game.


Subjects we are concerned with include but are not limited to:

  • Superfast Broadband Rollout such as the Hereford Council Superfast Broadband demand-stimulation scheme
  • Using Cloud Computing- to make your workforce mobile
  • Bring Your Own Device policies
  • Globalisation- using IT to unlock new markets
  • Virtual Organisations
  • Home startup and technology hubs
  • Preparing the office for the technologies of tomorrow
  • Social implications of workplace changes- The risks of merging the public and private spheres.
