What's the difference between an IT business-owner or business development person in the 'real IT sector' and an entrepreneur?
This question can be answered any number of ways but our definition of the real IT sector would be something around the areas of
- Being busy looking after customers, projects and staff
- Sales lead generation and nurturing
- Mostly using one's own resources (money and people) rather than VCs, investment capital and grants
- Evolution and tailoring of products as a method of innovation rather than dreaming up 'the next Google or Facebook'
Most UK IT Assocation members are concerned with these things but that doesn't mean that they haven't got ideas for new products, services and killer apps that they would like to see come to market one day and they would like to be able to mix and interact with other members who feel the same way.
