UK IT Association - Shropshire Branch

Shropshire has a lively and friendly branch which meets each month for 'unplugged' meetings in a private room in a quiet, welcoming pub, where we discuss IT matters, chat and and have a light supper. The events are usually based around a selected IT theme but we end up discussing an eclectic range of related subjects. We also run more formal 'plus' events where we invite potential customer and buyer groups. We welcome anyone interested in IT, you don't have to a member or be running an IT company to come along!

Welcome from Edward Bedell, chair - UKITA Shropshire

Our main aim is to promote the skills and capabilities of our members to businesses and organisations across the Shropshire, West Midlands and beyond.

In all the activities we perform we look to provide MB4U (More Business For You) to our members. Those who benefit most from their membership of UKITA Shropshire branch realise the benefits of membership are proportional to the effort they put into their membership. As such to get the best out of the branch you really need to put something back into the branch / UKITA - be it by helping out on the committee, attending events, maximising business opportunities via fellow UKITA members, providing PR and news articles for publication or contributing to forum discussions to name just a few areas of possible activity.

Services include Website design and development, Server, Network and Infrastructure installation and support, Database and office software training as well as specialists in programming, business intelligence, Oracle database and Sharepoint portal development.

Shropshire UKITA branch has very cordial links with the British Computer Society (BCS) Shropshire branch and four of the UKITA committee members Edward, Andrew, Chris and Hollie are also committee members of the BCS branch.

Creative Shropshire is a grouping of digital media and design companies some of whom are UKITA members. We happily cross-promote and attend each others events.

The Shropshire Branch connects through UKITA's regional network to organisations, resources and influence such as AWM's ICT Cluster, Business Link West Midlands, Business Networks like Business Voice West Midlands (BVWM) and the Professional Institutes Network (PINWM) University projects and networks.
