Company Profile(Public): The School of Computing and IT (SCIT) are engaged in exciting and forward-looking programmes of teaching, research and industrial collaboration; creating strong links with partners at local, national and international level. SCIT prides itself in the contribution it makes to economic regeneration and increasing employment in the region. Most recently demonstrated by the opening of the multi-million pound e-Innovation Centre business incubator unit at the Telford Campus. SCIT has around 1,500 undergraduate, postgraduate and research students on full-time and part-time programmes. The School has educational partners in the UK and internationally. All of these programmes are underpinned by active research and scholarship, funded by external research grants and industry. The School is located in the City Centre of Wolverhampton and has just moved into the new Technology Centre at the heart of the Wolverhampton City Campus. SCIT has built up a reputation for industrially-relevant and professionally accredited courses of the highest quality and remains at the forefront of computing education and training, which is directly underpinned by its consultancy and research activities. It has over 60 academic and support staff committed to excellence in teaching and learning and the Technology Centre is equipped with the very latest computing and communication facilities. Specialist labs and open access areas include PCs with the latest software for computer-aided software engineering, artificial intelligence, games development, mobile computing, database and website development, including Infomodeler, ASP.Net, and Visual Studio.Net. Games development resources include a 'real-time' room, and a multimedia lab has website, CD and DVD software.
