Hat-trick for Black Country
22nd January 2009

Despite the current economic downturn, businesses still recognise and value the significance networking can bring to their business. UKITA has had three new members join the Black Country branch recently.

The new members are R L Translations, Finchfield IT and Outserve Limited.

Dudley based R L Translations is a young business owned by Rebecca Lowery. Rebecca and her team are expert translators specialising in the legal and technical fields. “R L Translations joined UKITA to further our collaboration with technology companies. With the continued increase in globalisation and the rise in e-commerce, we hope to form mutually beneficial business partnerships with companies looking to expand into international markets." explained Rebecca.

Richard Preston owns Finchfield IT and provides computer and network support and maintenance for small businesses and home users. He explained: “I joined UKITA so I can keep up to date with what’s happening in the IT industry and access any funding, job opportunities and training. I also wanted to add credibility to my business by being a member of a national association such as UKITA.”

Outserve Limited is located in the Creative Industries Centre in Wolverhampton and provides training and consultancy in open source software.  Philip Oakley, managing director, said: “I joined UKITA for networking opportunities and to generate more business for myself and other members. I was particularly attracted by being part of a national association which also had regional groups with regional meetings."

Nigel Babb, chair of the Black Country branch explained: “I’m really pleased to welcome three very different members to the branch. Networking has and always will be a key part of the marketing strategy for many SMEs. There are many networking organisations in the Black Country and this year in particular, business owners will be carefully evaluating any memberships they hold for clear and demonstrable benefits from their subscriptions.”

He continued: “This year sees UKITA re-brand with a fresh logo; launch a new corporate website which will include access to opportunities; and deliver a PR and marketing campaign to promote UKITA further to help increase the members, partners and supply chains to drive more business for our members. The UKITA message of MB4U (More Business 4 You) for its members, will be at the forefront of all the Black Country branch activity this year. The more members we have the more benefits we can deliver, both directly and indirectly. This is a very positive start to the New Year.”
