‘Where are all the Women in Technology?’ – A question recently asked by the Financial Times (Kim Thomas, 08/11/06) and often asked at our events! It is fair to say that most UKita events attract a predominantly male audience. This event will not exclude men; however it is intended to boost the number of female participants and to provide support and encouragement for women working within or interested in the ICT industry.
‘Women in Technology’ - Launch of new UKita SIIG
UK IT Association will host an event to launch a new SIIG (Special Interest and Innovation Group) on 23rd January 2007 at The Abbey Hotel, Redditch from 11.45am – 3.45pm plus extended networking and consultations.
This event will provide a perfect opportunity for networking and information gathering and we truly expect that business will be done as a result of attending!
With various presentations and structured networking, rounded off with the opportunity to meet individuals and discuss a variety of topics in a relaxed environment, this is sure to be one of the best ways to kick-start 2007.
The event includes a hot buffet lunch for only £25.00 (non-member rate) or only £15.00 for members. A £10 credit will be granted to new members joining UKita at the event!
At the end of the event, information will be provided about opportunities for ICT companies to register for free ’Networking Training’.
So, who should attend?
The SIIG will provide UKita members with a tailored support network and a platform for discussion and action. This event will set the scene for the launch of this new initiative and will provide a general platform for interaction with various organisations and individual contacts.
This fantastic opportunity to raise the profile of the industry will provide information and support to women involved at all levels.
