Mark Wormald, founder of Sandler Sales Institute West Midlands, spent the previous 19 years notching up sales and sales management successes in a variety of industry sectors, first in blue-chip companies in the technology sector including Canon, Racal and Northrop and major IT companies. Over the past decade he has been managing and training sales professionals in media organisations ranging from the Institute of Physics Publishing as launch publisher of Wireless Europe magazine to specialist technology publishing company Europa Science, ultimately running his own media sales and marketing consultancy from Bristol. At every stage of his sales career Mark overcame familiar challenges to achieve business success, but he knew deep down that it was only when he bent the traditional methods he'd taught and been taught – and brought in more intuitive, people-people communication skills – that he really made things happen.
In Sandler Sales Institute Mark saw his gut instincts embodied in an established, professional and growing organisation – complete with literature and full training infrastructure – for the first time. It was no surprise to him that it had already proven so popular, and a no-brainer for him to take on the methods himself and help others resurface into a world of intelligent sales – for their own fulfilment as well as that of their company.
Mark's sector strengths lie in media and technology (he is also a qualified electronics engineer and marketer) and his professional skills and experience span a wide range from sales and sales training and marketing through to new business development and corporate strategy.
Also working with Mark is his wife and business partner Vanessa Spedding, who brings to the team more than a decade's experience in journalism, science& technology and management.
