A good example of a large project is the solution recently developed for Volkswagen Group UK. VW approached Remote to design and develop a system that would automate the annual stock count of all of their vehicles currently in the UK throughout the five retail brands for commercial, retail and staff vehicles. Enabling them to submit their annual Stock Audit to the Inland Revenue.

The resulting system consisted of a User Management tool, an Employee Management Tool and a Comparison and Reporting Tool. It collected data from various sources and collated it into a central database, compared it with the data held at head office in existing SAP and other stock control databases and reported any inconsistencies or anomalies. The resulting files were then exported to form the final stock count in summary reports and a tool was developed that enabled Volkswagen Group UK staff to reconcile the data.

The solution was built throughout the summer of 2005, was audited by Price Waterhouse Cooper during October and Live service was launched on schedule in November 2005.

Remote New Media have also developed their own industry level password-protected online content management system. Each version of the system is customized to suit the needs of that specific client and allows them to directly add, edit or delete the content on their web site instantly. This technology empowers their customers to ensure that the information provided on their web sites is up-to-date and relevant to the needs of their customers and employees.

In addition to providing technical developments for their customers, they also run their own successful Internet projects. This first-hand experience gives them a deeper and very practical understanding of developing and implementing business ideas through the Internet.
