Scott Thompson and Paul Cooper of the
University of Central England, experienced
IT professionals, developed the unique idea
of establishing a Centre of Excellence for
Open Source in the West Midlands. Open
source software is the most important trend
in software today. The idea turned into
reality, as Scott and Paul developed co-
operation agreements with the National
Computing Centre and the National Business
to Business Centre.
