National Consultancy Conference - Special Offer
Some of you will know that earlier this year, the UK IT Association acquired the Skillfair national membership organisation of around 1,000 independent consultants in the IT, Corporate, Engineering and SME business advice.
The main benefits they get are a daily delivery of skills-matched tenders harvested from 1,100 tendering websites and other sources.
Skillfair also holds a NATIONAL CONSULTANCY CONFERENCE each year. This year it will be at Telford next Tuesday 8th November. http://www.skillfair.co.uk/content/1429/Skillfair-2011-Conference.aspx
Take a look at the business-enhancing subjects on offer - there are a few places left. Special Offer: If you are a member of UKITA, the BCS, CompTIA or the ICT Cluster Excellence club you can come along at the Skillfair members rate (£135 plus vat) and save £30 off the non-members rate. As a taster, here’s a synopsis of a talk about the way IT and changes in the way people's expectations are changing the FUTURE WORKPLACE.
Presented by John James Dew of Dew Cadre Change Associates, John's morning talk is entitled The Future Workplace (Technology and Transformation) for Consultants - looking through the presentation itself, it's right at the front of thinking about the changing landscape for consultancy and advice services.
Synopsis:
- My background and experience leads me to conclude that we are not just run of the mill resource - we are elite transformation athletes supporting our clients in a highly volatile and changing world.
- Big, complex and messy challenges face us and our clients – not least the economy!
- We are surrounded by negative news messages and headlines;
- But, we need to hold the line, hold our nerve, and step up to the plate. Especially as there is still work out there to be had and, in fact the reality is that our Nation needs our elite athletic transformational prowess now more than ever.
- The Digital age is upon us and there is evidence of change impacting upon society; business; workplace; employment; and upon us!
- We need to take a long hard look at ourselves and determine where we are positioned in all of this;
- Continuing the Athletics metaphor we will look for some steers on how we might respond … I use the 2010 Commonwealth games as an example of sustained negativity and doubt leading up to the games and cite the reaction of the athletes as a basis for suggesting to the audience that the worst thing they can do is ignore the impact of the digital age and lose heart because of the tough economic climate.
- I share with them what our response should be and end with a visual and inspirational clip of the athletes achieving their ambitions.
