UKITA speaks out for the little guys
"UK IT system has glass ceiling"
In a guest blog for fast-growing, multi-award-winning hosting company UKFast, Andrew Corbett, UKITA's Membership Director suggests that there is a glass ceiling between the vast majority of the UK's IT SMEs and the charmed few who manage to access funding from the powers-that-be.
"Many ‘ordinary’ looking businesses around the country are involved in high-value activity that one might not expect....What is distinctive is that these companies are most often not funding the R&D and development of their IP through the familiar access to finance routes but by bankrolling their development out of the bread and butter activities.....Often development is not synonymous with growth, which is the favoured metric of improved performance."
