Thursday 24th March saw the launch of UKITA's new branch in Powys. We tried to do the inaugural meeting back in December, amid the worst of the winter snowfall, and had to unfortunately postpone. However, Thursday evening saw the UKITA crew - Fred Noble, UKITA CEO, Andrew Corbett, Membership Director, Anna Wilde, Membership Manager and Edward Bedell the Shropshire chairman - out in force at Coleg Powys. Karl Doody from 27 Stars in Welshpool is going to be running the Powys branch together with Jon Dickinson from Accolade Development. Karl was speaking on, and demonstrating, some aspects of Cloud computing. Edward Bedell told the audience what UKITA has done for his business, Interpulse Ltd, and how he now works collaboratively with other members on interesting projects.
There was a pretty good turnout, including people from Software Alliance Wales and the FSB, and even a professor from Aberystwyth University. Thanks to all who came - hope you enjoyed it and Karl and Jon will keep you posted as to the next event.
