Events

This event will follow the well established routine, but with a new and improved twist!

Good old fashioned fayre is available by the renowned Mad O'Rourke's Pie Factory. This event will involve practicing the art of gluttony from the menu (read it here), partaking (for social reasons of course) in the odd ale (or soft drink for those driving) and jovial banter with UKITA members, non-members and anyone else who wanders in off the street! Although we do limit numbers to ensure a comfortable fit in the private function area.

A fantastic way for non-members to meet IT experts and suppliers and for Members to meet up with fellow members/collaborators as well as potential new end clients or referrers in a pressure free, relaxing and enjoyable environment. In the name of transparency and fairness, to both Accountants and Other Half's the technical term for such an event is 'Social Networking' and as such we will be doing this with gusto.

The 'twist' to the normal structure is that following on from the success of UKITA's Social Media Marketing Masterclasses, Phil Oakley, director of Outserve Ltd, will be leading an informal discussion on the merits or not of businesses pursuing Social Networking Sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Blogs as part of their marketing strategy. This is a discussion not a lecture so audience participation/questions are essential - if you have a question here's the place to ask the expert and not get charged for it

So why not come along and give it a try. It's not a room full of geeks (there's only one of those and we make him sit on his own anyway!) you never know you might enjoy it like the hundred or so different people who have tried it since the Offline series of social events was introduced. If you know someone who might be interested then let them know too.
